MSAD #11 Adult Education

So You Want to Farm in Maine?

This course is designed for current farmers and those who are aspiring to have a farm. During this course, participants will be equipped with knowledge and skills to start, adapt and maintain a profitable land-based business. Instructors for the course are Cooperative Extension faculty, Caragh Fitzgerald and Rich Kersbergen, along with guest instructors. The goals of the class are to help participants feel comfortable evaluating and starting a farm-based business; understand the need for a business plan; select and use a recordkeeping system; understand how to use the Cooperative Extension and other agencies as resources for their farm business; and understand the importance of and basics of marketing their products, including customer surveys.

*There is no class on Thanksgiving, 11/22. The last class will be held on 11/29.
