How do I know whether that pop-up ad is legit? When I purchase something, what protections does Maine law provide? What tactics should automatically make me question whether an ad is authentic? What should I do if I fall for a scam? How can I avoid being a victim of identity theft? The Attorney General's Office Consumer Protection Division fields approximately 12,000 calls per year and can answer all of these questions.
