Adult, Infant, Child CPR & First Aid Session I

Calendar Sep 9, 2019 at 6 pm, runs for 2 weeks

This class includes CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) for adult, child, and infant, as well as AED (automated external defibrillator) and first aid. Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and care forindividuals in emergency situations including cardiac arrest. Emphasis will be on providing basic care until advancedmedical care personnel arrive and take charge. American Heart Association CPR certification will be awarded uponsuccessful completion of class requirements. Class may run until 9:00pm. Gardiner Area High School.

If you learn how to Swing, you'll be the life of the party, impress the boss and probably get a raise. Who doesn't want that? Swing can be danced to a wide variety of music, making it one of the most "useable" dances. No experience necessary, just a desire to have fun! Both couples and singles are welcome.

The purpose of this workshop is to provide the general public with a greater understanding of the difference between age-related memory loss and dementia and what to do if they have signs of Alzheimer’s disease. At the workshop, you will learn: how to tell the difference between Alzheimer’s and typical aging; steps to take if you recognize a warning sign in yourself or someone you know; the process for receiving an Alzheimer’s diagnosis and why early detection is crucial.

Personal Safety is designed for any individual who wants the tools to be confident in their everyday life. This class will teach the skills necessary to stay safe in a variety of situations; from outward appearance and confidence level, to utilizing the body as a weapon. Everyday items that can be used as a form of self-protection will be addressed as well. This personal safety course will give you the tools necessary to recognize possible dangerous encounters and teach you how to handle them. Focus will be placed on prevention strategies as well as mental and physical preparation. This 3-hour course will employ a variety of techniques that are easy and practical to use. Ages 14+ welcome to attend. No experience necessary.
