Adult, Infant, Child CPR & First Aid--Session II

Calendar Oct 22, 2018 at 6 pm, runs for 2 weeks

This class includes CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) for Adult, Child and Infant, as well as AED (automated external defibrillator) and First Aid. Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and care for individuals in emergency situations including cardiac arrest. Emphasis will be on providing basic care until advanced medical care personnel arrive and take charge. American Heart Association CPR certification will be awarded upon successful completion of class requirements. Class may run until 9:00 p.m.

As people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias progress in their journey and the ability to use words is lost, families need new ways to connect. Join us to explore how communication takes place when someone has Alzheimer’s, learn to decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia, and identify strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease.

Tai Chi for Change

Like all tai chi, this short form will improve your coordination, balance, breath, health, and energy.This form incorporates aspects of qigong and two traditional styles (Yang and Chen) into movements that benefit change and growth in our lives. It is ideal for anybody recovering from surgery or any life transition, big or small, but will benefit anybody regardless of why they want to learn it. Tai chi, and especially this form, is easily adapted to a seated position and students of all levels of mobility are welcome in this class.
