One of the most turbulent periods in brain development occurs during adolescence. The teen brain actually functions very differently from the adult brain.  Certain kinds of thinking, such as decision-making, actually happen in different parts of the brain for adolescents and adults.  Understanding these complex changes can help calm the rough seas of the teen years, but also provide your teen with critical support and understanding that will promote better decision-making, better mental health, and better outcomes at school.  Come find out the important ways in which the teen brain is developing. Identify behaviors and attitudes that are influenced by these changes. Then learn to offer constructive strategies for establishing a better understanding of and communication with your amazing teen.

Yoga for FUN

Anyone can learn yoga! This is a yoga class for those new to yoga or those wanting a basic flow class. This class introduces foundational yoga postures, teaches you how to breathe, introduces stretching techniques, and helps you feel more comfortable in the yoga practice. This class will move at a slower pace to help the individual feel the benefits of the yoga poses. Expect to be challenged both mentally and physically. Dress in comfy clothes and get out your yoga mat. This class will either run virtually or possibly in person as the date grows near it will be based on COVID 19 regulations.

*Please provide a current working email address when registering for this course. This class will occur via ZOOM, Google Meets, or WebEx and you will be sent a link prior to the first night of class. The technology requirements for this class are a good internet connection and a ISO device or a computer with a microphone and camera.

Adult, Infant, Child CPR & First Aid Session I

This class includes CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) for Adult, Child and Infant, as well as AED (automated external defibrillator) and First Aid. Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and care for individuals in emergency situations including cardiac arrest. Emphasis will be on providing basic care until advanced medical care personnel arrive and take charge. American Heart Association CPR certification will be awarded upon successful completion of class requirements. 

COVID screening and precautions (mask & distancing) will apply. 

Mozzarella and Ricotta Cheese

If you love cheese, sign up for this one-night class! Learn to make ricotta and mozzarella cheese without any special tools or pans. We will supply the recipe with your class access before the class. A great way to learn at home and have home made cheese in your fridge!

The whole thing seems like a mystery with too few clues to solve. Robert Harvey, a Licensed Insurance Agent with HealthMarkets, can answer many of the questions you may have about Medicare, from the beginning of the process on. He will discuss: when you are eligible, what is the timeline for enrollment without penalties, what original Medicare covers and what it doesn’t, what additional plans work in conjunction with original Medicare, and your financial assistance options.
