Preserving Your Spring Bounty - Pesto

This hands-on food preservation workshop will teach you the basics of freezing fruits & vegetables. This is an easy and economical way to preserve the great vegetables from your garden. Participants will receive a “Preserving the Harvest” food preservation packet and will learn recommended methods for preserving foods, the latest and safest recipes and food safety. Join us in this beginner level class as we make pesto, which you will be taking home with you! A materials fee of $15 is due to the instructor at class.

Preserving Your Spring Bounty - Strawberry Jam

Ever wonder how to preserve all those great seasonal fruits and vegetables? This hands-on food preservation workshop will teach you the basic steps for hot water bath canning and freezing. Students will learn how to make strawberry jam using fresh strawberries. They will also receive a “Preserving the Harvest” food preservation packet, and will learn recommended methods for preserving foods, the latest and safest recipes, equipment to ensure safety, and how to check for properly sealed jars. This is a beginning-level class. Please bring a potholder with you to the workshop. You will be able to take home a jar of strawberry jam! A materials fee of $15 is due to the instructor at class.
